As any Minecraft user who cares even the tiniest bit about organization knows, the in-game inventory system is rather sloppy and cumbersome. Thankfully, there is Inventory Tweaks; an excellent mod that allows the player to manage their inventory with ease. The Inventory management mod comes with numerous handy shortcuts to help move items and manage user's inventory more efficiently.
This is especially for players who have installed multiple mods that add new items. Inventory management is also totally customizable using new, slick tool: “cleave configuration files”. In addition, this mod allows inventory and chests to be sorted automatically with just a single click or keystroke. It is smart too, so inventory gets sorted in a logical way. Tools are sorted by other tools, blocks by other blocks, and so on. Split stacks of the same item or material will also be automatically compiled into single stacks wherever possible. In other words, say goodbye to having to manually sort through your extensive, messy inventory.
A Genius Solution to Broken Tool Replacement
How often has this happened while playing Minecraft: You are trying to break a block, all of a sudden you tool’s durability runs out, and now you are just punching the block. So now, you have to stop breaking the block (resetting its damage counter), go into your inventory, and find a new tool. This is especially annoying when trying to mine obsidian! Well, with the Inventory Management mod, this problem is solved. Now when a tool breaks, it is automatically and instantly replaced with a new tool of the same type from the player’s inventory. This saves the user a ton of time, not only because you do not have to manually equip a new tool, but also because it prevents the block’s damage counter from resetting. This feature also works for other items and blocks as well. For example, if you are placing down some torches and the stack runs out, it will be automatically replace with a new stack from your inventory.
New Shortcuts for Quickly Storing and Organizing Inventory
These are just a handful of the shortcuts this mod adds to Minecraft. These shortcuts are also completely customizable and can be enabled or disabled whenever. Not only do these shortcuts work on a player’s personal inventory, many can also be applied to chests, furnaces, and crafting tables.
- Auto-sort: R key or middle mouse click
- Chest-sort: Chests now come with three buttons to auto-sort there inventory in one of three ways
- Lock: sends designated items to a specific location and keeps them there during auto-sort
- Hotkey: give items a special key that draws them into the player’s hand when pressed
