The Highlands Mod for Minecraft gives the game more depth by introducing mountains and hills and it consists of sub-biomes that personify characteristics such as islands, forest clearings, and valleys. The Highlands Mod does not use any modded blocks in world generation, thus creating a more enjoyable and appealing user interface.
The Highland Mod (survival mode) gives you the option to plant trees – granted you gather all of the care/planting necessities first. Once the aforementioned tree grows, you can cut it down for firewood – and repeat the process and have a steady supply – or fabricate a treehouse. This feature could also be used to give players an opportunity to add a distinct accent of greenery that satisfies their needs.
There are several features available in the Highland Mod including the ability to use Forge, a wide variety of small yet useful plants, villages in more biomes, single and multiplayer options, fourteen new tree types, and biome specific ore generation, to name a few.
