GLSL Shaders Modified Mod for Minecraft 1.7.4 / 1.7.2 / 1.6.4 & 1.5.2
GLSL Shaders Modified Mod is just as it sounds: a modified version of the original GLSL Shaders Mod, created by daxnitro. The original mod’s purpose was to allow advanced graphical effects in the simple, though charming, style of Minecraft. This included waving effects to grass, wheat, and leaves, as well as simulating more realisticly how wind would effect water, fire, and even lava. Although the original mod was successful, the updates stopped around October of last year, meaning newer versions of Minecraft (most notably those beyond 2.1.6 for 1.3.1) did not have the necessary updates to play with the GLSL Shaders Mod. Although not continuing the release of updated versions of his mod, daxnitro stated in one of his posts not only his desire to leave its development entirely, but also that not only was distribution encouraged, but modification as well.
That’s where GLSL Shaders Mod Modified, now being created by Karyonix, comes in. Not only is it compatible in the more recent Minecraft versions, but also has improved features not realized in the original shaders mod, such as multiple composite programs being fully supported, as well as fixing strange rendering that may have been present before, such as when the GUI rendered rain. It also contains all the original features, to include the curvature specific shaders, allowing you to truly feel as if you’re on a small world of your own.
This mod, although in new hands, continues to present what its creator originally intended: an entirely customizable GLSL shader setup to provide a unique (and visually impressive) Minecraft experience.
