Biomes have made the world of Minecraft a much more fun place to explore and live in, making the world different at every turn, but the fact is that they’re really just are not enough biomes int eh main game, something that extrabiomesXL aims to fix. This mod adds a number of new biomes, and its aim is to make exploration even more exciting than it already is, as well as adding variation to the game world.
A Whole New World
You see, the truth is that as we continuously get more features in Minecraft, we simply want more out of them, something that mods often do a great job of. ExtraBiomesXL adds a number of new biomes, including but not limited to:
- Autumn Woods
- Birch Forest
- Ice Wasteland
- Mountain Desert
What’s really great about ExtraBiomesXL though is the fact that it doesn’t require any other mods to make this happen. So many mods end up using some sort of secondary mod, even if it’s just audiomod to add in custom sounds. The ExtraBiomesXL mod for Minecraft only makes use of existing assets, blending together into completely new worlds for players to explore.
Uniqueness is Still Important
What exactly makes these worlds unique if they just re-use assets, though? For starters, ExtraBiomesXL adds a number of new trees, including fir trees. These are of course added by simply taking existing leaf models and existing tree trunk textures and bringing together to create a taller and more lush tree. In addition, ExtraBiomesXL combines existing biomes in very interesting ways. If youw ant to know what the mod’s Marsh is lake, it’s really just a combination of the plains and ocean biomes, while the green swamplands are a combination of the ocean and forest biomes.
Combinations Make the Parts Stronger
These combinations go right alongside their default counterparts, and together they create an incredibly detailed and fun to explore world that every single Minecraft player should check out. If you love running around looking at the natural formations of the game’s world generator, this is the mod for you.
