The Extra Biomes Mod for Minecraft adds new types of environments to newly created worlds but will not change the enviroments of already existing save game worlds. The Extra Biomes mod will add eight different, new types of biospheres to your world, some of which are not so noticeably different and others that are quite strikingly fresh.
These include, the Bamboo Forest Biome, The Savannah, the Glacier biome, the Rainforest biome, The Desert Bountains Biome, the Green Swamp Biome, the Birch Forest and Stonefield biome.
The bamboo forest is one of the most interesting, despite having very little utility to the player who finds it. This is essentially, just a normal forest with a twist – it’s been overtaken with bamboo. Second is the Savannah, like the previous land this is one of the more noticable biospheres. It’s a plains dotted here and there with new and enormous trees!
The glacier biome, like the bamboo forest is cool but of little value and features, well, mountains covered in ice. The rainforest is perhaps the most unremarkable as it’s just a forest with extra trees essentially and more lava. The desert biome is another rather flat, desolate landscape, essentially just the glacier biome with sand instead of ice. The green swamp is a normal swamp, only green and with a surplus of cows, squids and trees. The birch forest is a normal forest only entirely made of nothing but birch and the stonefield is, well, it’s a plains comprised of stone with a lot of pitfalls, caves and the like.
