With the emergence of Minecraft mods and popular internet figures playing Minecraft happening almost simultaneously, it's no real surprise that many high profile YouTube creators have put together packs full of their favorite mods, and direwolf20 is no exception. What the direwolf20 mod pack does is it lets people that love to watch direwolf20 play with the exact set of mods that he does when creating his videos.
In fact, amny people consider his pack to be one of the best starter packs for people who are just getting into mods. Some of the mods included in the pack are:
- Minecraft Forge
There are many more mods, but suffice it to say that every single mod in this pack adds something that makes the Minecraft experience that much better while retaining a certain level of uniqueness.
The Core Mods
That said, let’s expand on what some of the most important mods in the pack do individually. Minecraft Forge is of course required to make a lot of mods work, and provides a framework for any mod creator to use. Buildcraft allows players to automate some of the more tedious tasks in Minecraft, and creates a sort of modern Minecraft.
A Modern Minecraft
Indeed, many of the mods in the direwolf20 mod pack for Minecraft have the same sort of feel. Putting mods like Buildcraft, IndustrialCraft, and ComputerCraft together creates a version of Minecraft that feels like it takes place today instead of in the odd timeless world that vanilla Minecraft takes place in.
Consistency is Important
Out of all the mod packs that I’ve taken a look at, direwolf20’s really has a feel and consistency that is unparalleled. A ton of these mod packs just slap a bunch of mods together in a package that you download without giving any care to how those mods will actually fit together when someone goes to play the game.
Ease of Use & Separation
The best thing about the direwolf20 mod pack, and mod packs in general though is ease of installation. Instead of installing all of the mods contained within separately, there’s only one file to manage and install, which can be done very quickly, even to a separate Minecraft install so you can keep your original Minecraft install just the way you like it, while using the direwolf20 mod pack as a completely separate type of game.
