CraftGuide Mod for Minecraft 1.7.2 / 1.6.4 & 1.6.2
Most of the fun of Minecraft is derived from creating hundreds of unique items and putting them together to make something unique in all its blocky glory. However, that can be difficult if you don’t know how to make everything you need, and tabbing out to look up recipes ruins immersion. Thankfully, the CraftGuide mod created by Uristqwerty gives us access to every recipe in the game with easy navigability.
Crafting the Guide
In order to gain access to the guide, you need to craft it. This is achieved at a crafting table with the following recipe:
- Crafting table in the center
- One book each at up, down, left, and right
- One piece of paper at each corner
In the most recent version, the book is now bound to the G key (default), so you can open it there whether you have crafted the book or not.
In addition to providing a comprehensive list of all the items in Minecraft and their crafting recipes, Craftguide includes all combinations that will work in the furnace. It’s also easily searchable, providing a search bar to cut down on the time spent digging through pages of icons until you find the entry you’re looking for. More importantly, once you find the item you’re looking for, you can drag it to the filter box and view all the recipes that item is involved in. Toggling the Input and Output boxes further narrows or expands your search results based on whether you want formulas that craft your chosen item, or whether you want to know what it makes.
Craftguide is unique from other recipe mods because of its ability to show the formulas for items added to Minecraft from other mods. Instead of switching between any number of sites to find what you need out of the game, this mod consolidates all that information and personalizes itself to your individual game experience.
If you need a pocket guidebook for all the recipes in Minecraft, this is the mod you want. It’s completely compatible will all other mods and doesn’t break your immersion, allowing for even more hours creating and less time searching for that missing ingredient.
